Animal damage prevention

For the past few years Eli Galili has been engaged in counseling, guiding and developing programs whose essence is to prevent losses to agriculture caused by wildlife. One of the most meaningful and media-covered projects is the Galilee Carne Project. While foraging in local fields, massive flocks of birds, including thousands of cranes landing in the Hula Valley, afflict heavy damage to the agriculture in the region. This problem led to the development of the “Crane Project” that became a bridge and symbol of co-existence between farmers, birds and nature. For many years Eli Galili has studied the cranes and their way of life and found several methods that allow for damage prevention. Eli is among the initiators of the project to prevent losses from cranes and has managed it for many years. This project runs in collaboration with farmers, JNF, SPNI, green-bodies and private companies.
